Vegetarianism

What is Vegetarianism?
Vegetarianism is the practice of excluding meat (red meat, poultry and often seafood) from the diet. It may also include the exclusion of dairy products, eggs and the by-products of animal slaughter (rennet, gelatin, animal fur and leather). There are many different types of vegetarian, and you can find out about them here.

The most common reason for becoming a vegetarian is for ethical reasons (usually a concern for animal welfare) but people can be vegetarian for religious, political, health, environmental, cultural, aesthetic or economic reasons.

This collection of links aims to provide vegetarians and meat-eaters alike with information, advice and resources relating to the vegetarian lifestyle.
